Retired no one told me and Orienthailiving weekly roundup…Fruity Fridays, The Secret Bunker and Strawberry Daquari…

Boy, don’t the weeks fly by???

The first post out of the starting gate was my new Fruity Fridays which kicked off with the delicious Pineapple…Full of Vitamin C and the perfect accompaniment to many a dish.

It was then over to Bridget for her delicious Irish Soda Bread I was straight down to the kitchen as with only 2 ingredients how could I not make them…I threw in a handful of raisins and they were soon cooked and buttered while hot…think 20%…haha….Bridget then tells me I could add syrup or cheese…Oh yum!

Then it was a trip over to my other blog Orienthailiving and the conclusion of the Lantern Festival and Chinese New Year and the food they eat traditionally Tang Yuan…Beautiful Chinese balls with lots of different filling and sauces…Another Yum! And not only do you get delicious food but look at these little children’s clothes and tell me they are not so cute…

Then came Sally’s  weekly roundups which included Moi … I am getting around quite a bit now…I will be getting a name for myself…lol..So many great articles and brilliant authors including Sally herself 🙂

Next, we had my Healthy Eating post… Eat what you like and lose weight…Oh yes… you can if you choose wisely. And after those delectable Tang Yuan and that Irish Soda Bread… I did only have half of one farl…honestly… But I still feel the need for a good walk and get back to my 80% and practise what I preach…haha

Then it was back over to Orienthailiving for my first post of the week which was Travel England as it is my birthplace and the other secret place I found..not so glamorous but very interesting and a piece of history ” The Secret Bunker“.Creepy though!

Wednesday already and it is my food column over at Sally’s place and as it will soon be Valentines Day I thought I would spread a few hearts and some recipes that you can cook for your sweetheart ❤

Phew, another busy week… I thought I was supposed to be retired….tired more like…lol

I do hope you are enjoying my weekly roundups until next time stay safe, have fun and laugh a lot as laughter is the best medicine and is FREE Xxxx

What Amazon says

Heaven’S Rage is an imaginative autobiography. Reporting on feelings people don’t usually own up to, Leslie Tate explores addiction, cross-dressing and the hidden sides of families. Writing lyrically, he brings together stories of bullying, childhood dreams, thwarted creativity and late-life illness, discovering at their core the transformative power of words to rewire the brain and reconnect with life. My review

I reviewed this book in my capacity as a member of Rosie’s Book Review Team. If you would like your book reviewed, you can contact Rosie Amber here:

I am a great fan of both biographies and autobiographies of writers and have read quite a number of such books. I love books and reading so an opportunity to peek into the life and writing processes of an author…

Quote, Challenge Day Two –

My thanks to Sally for nominating me for this challenge… I do love a good quote and when I first started blogging I always used a quote as my title and this always prompted the words to spill forth and was the subject of my post…My brain is wired so that if you give me a word, a photo, a sentence any little prompt although I can’t guarantee that the story won’t be off the wall as my brain works in mysterious ways… Is that normal for a writer?

Although I will say ( before) anyone else does that ” normal” is not a descriptor which is ever applied to Moi…

Sally’s quote for Day One.

Does that mean my day one starts here so I have to pick 3…and there was me thinking I was going to get away with two….

I love Maya Angelou and Eleanor Roosevelt they were both amazing ladies and have many quotes and most quite brilliant….

So many quotes to choose from I tend to like quirky quotes and this one always makes me smile… Author unknown…I always wonder at that… Why?

The only time the world beats a path to your door is when you are in the bathroom! Anonymous…

..and is that just the truth?  Your mobile goes or someone has something so urgent that they talk through the door at you…..

How often has that happened to you? More times than I can count..I tell you…

It is also customary to nominate three other bloggers to pick up the challenge.. knowing how busy you are I will not be offended if you cannot participate but it is an excuse to give your latest post a plug anyway.

Firstly my friend SC Richmond

At the moment she has a very good offer for you…. All three of her books at a very special price…

meet-alex-price SC Richmond…meet alex price

Well worth it I have read her first two books and they are awesome and I can’t wait to read the third…. we are also sort of co-writing …The Charade…. I know Steph has been busy writing and I have been busy but I love that storyline and so want to know the ending… Maybe I will write another chapter very soon?

Secondly,  A man who always is kind, polite and helpful and shares all of our posts …A true gentleman…..

Lastly, Sugar bundle Betty who can be found here....

A lovely lady who when I asked a question on one of her recipes went over and above to help me….. She really did and it was very much appreciated  …

I am always amazed and I don’t know why I am but bloggers are some of the nicest, kindest people on this earth…You should all give yourself a pat on the back because you are truly wonderful.

Thank you to Sally for nominating me…..  My second quote will be tomorrow…

Sally is a lovely lady who is among the most generous of bloggers who shares and promotes many other authors and bloggers most generously including Moi and for that, I truly thank her….

If you enjoyed this little post I can also now be found over on my new blog… first foray into self-hosting…I wonder if there are any quotes on that??? Maybe not printable though…Haha

Please pop over and say hello and let me know what you think…

Logo for new site

It will contain travel, recipes, traditions and lots more….

Until tomorrow….Stay safe, have fun and laugh a lot…

Carols Work in Progress – A #WiPW Guest Post!

Many thanx to Shaun from Clockwork Clouds for allowing me to guest post on his blog…Please pop over and see him he has a lovely blog and it is worth a read 🙂

Clockwork Clouds

I don’t know about you, but I can often get into the mindset that “there’s time to do something later” and, as such, I put dreams and passions to one side. The horror stories I then go on to hear, though, can make you think you’ll never get there; that a passion put to one side will never be felt. That said, sometimes you hear a story where a hobby was rediscovered, where the pieces aligned unexpectedly. Sometimes you’ll hear a story that shows us just how truly unpredictable life can be…. Carol, of Retired? No one told me! and, shares that kind of inspirational tale in today’s Work in Progress Wednesday (WiPW)! Please have a read.

Work in Progress!

WipW…..Shaun has very kindly allowed me to guest post on his blog and a very nice blog it is so give him some…

Posts from Your Archives – Are you cleaning up your Amazon Links? Be careful sharing book links by D.G. Kaye

Wow, am I relieved that it isn’t old age and I am losing my marbles it’s Amazon being smart….A good read and if you are an author or blogger well worth a read 🙂

Smorgasbord - Variety is the spice of life

We all have posts that we wrote a year or so ago, or even longer, that are not read as much these days, as new posts take up your readers time.

However, why not share them over here to my readers?

Not only is this a chance to showcase your posts, but also your blog and books. Start off by sending me four links to the posts you would like to see given another boost and if you like the experience you can always send me more –

An excellent example of how this works is the series of four posts by author D.G. Kaye and here is one on cleaning up your links before posting.

Smorgasbord Invitation Blog Magazine – A new concept and more opportunities to be promoted.

Good Luck Sally with your new venture which I am sure will be a resounding success..Hugs xx

Smorgasbord - Variety is the spice of life

As I enter my fifth year of blogging I have decided that it was time to make some renovations to the existing blog and to increase the ways that I can promote authors and bloggers in our community.

Readers that follow the blog have a diverse range of interests and I would like to feature more posts that reflect that. Over the last few weeks I have been testing out a new series – Posts from Your Archives and judging by the response, it has been a success.

I decided to give the trial two months, but I am now extending this into a permanent feature, as part of my move into a more magazine concept for the blog.

Smorgasbord Invitation – Blog magazine for lovers of health, food, books, music, humour and life in general

We already have health and food series, book promotions, music, humour but I would…

Smorgasbord - Variety is the spice of life

Welcome to this week’s round up and a week of two halves. One half had failing internet, which like a dodgy hair piece, was all over the place for four days. On for 10 minutes and then off for 20 minutes and variations along that theme. Thankfully I had scheduled posts so that I could take a writing break, but it was frustrating to say the least.  The good half of the week is that I got on with Tales from an Irish Garden and made good progress.. A way to go yet, but it will get there in its own good time.

Apart from that I was lucky to have great guests and their contributions to entertain you, and I am very grateful for their time and effort.

William Price King provided us an insight into the career and music of Sir Tom Jones in the mid 1960’s for…
