A tad behind this week… Just circumstances and the fact I had my nose in a book…Yesterday I went on a road trip to get little Lily who wanted to come and stay with us for a few days…At least then her mummy can weed the rice and not have to keep an eye on Lil’s who is just off to the pool with her brother and dad having just thrashed grandad at snap…Lol…I think he does let her win most of the time…
I hope by now you are used to the routine and have your favourite beverage and are comfy and ready to have a good read, there are some cracking recipes from me and Sally so maybe have a snack handy as well as you might be a tad hungry by the time you have finished reading.
My first post of the week was my take on Old Bay seasoning ..I make all of my spice mixes and I find it then means 1.I know what is in it and 2. I have a better, quicker rotation of spices hence they are fresher and the third it is much cheaper…Cost-effective…
Then as so often different terms and names are applied to the same product or produce around the world…The internet can be a wonderful thing but can also cause much confusion with terms so I hope I have cleared a few of them up for you I am sure there are many more.
It was then Sally’s turn with a beautiful sounding recipe for stuffed peppers and fajitas which I thought was worth a share… Thank you, Sally 🙂
Bootcamp…With some healthy and tasty foods for those hot summer days which many of you are enjoying around the globe and healthy does not mean boring and tasteless…Forget about those bland rice crackers and the like …There is food here to enjoy and savour…
Wednesdays mean my weekly cookery column over at Sally’s and this week it was Rice…my favourite carb and of which there are so many different varieties…Recipes both sweet and savoury just for you to enjoy…
Stink Beans do to your urine what asparagus does … Makes it a little smelly but paired with some hot spicy curry paste and pork it is a lovely thing and a very popular dish here in Thailand …
Back over to Sally whose Health advice is invaluable and in layman’s terms means I can understand it… Many chronic conditions can be helped not always cured but helped by changes to our diets. I mean if you do that and cut down on tablets and medicines is that not better? I think so… who wants to rattle when shaken?…
Sally is kindly reposting a few of my archived posts on a Thursday and this one is a beautiful red Lily Lake..wetlands full of wildlife and very beautiful when the Lily’s are in bloom.
Those of you who know well know how much I dislike most manufactured foods and products and that if I can make a great tasting substitute then I will…This is my third different protein shake and it came a close second to my favourite raspberry and beet protein shake.
Lastly, my fellow blogger, Debby has joined our team over at Sally’s with a travel column and it is great …There is no one better suited than our Deb to host a travel column and already I have picked up some great tips and ones which could save me both money and a travel disaster…Well worth a read…
I hope you have enjoyed this varied roundup…If you have please feel free to reblog or share on your favourite social media xxx
